It’s the end of the long weekend unfortunately, but the good news is we have a new comic for you! That essentially makes up for going to be early tonight, waking up to an annoying alarm in order to drag yourself to a job you hate, right? I thought so.
I’m not sure how many of our readers follow politics, but boy would it have been hard to miss what was going on up here in the Great White North this week.
First Toronto’s potato sack mayor got caught on video allegedly smoking crack cocaine, then our prime minister Stephen Harper responded to a brewing scandal by holding a pep rally for himself to remind Canadians how awesome he is.
If you don’t know the details of the scandal you can read all about it here, but essentially a bunch of Conservative senators (and one Liberal senator) were improperly claiming housing expenses on the tax payers dime, then the prime minister’s office tried to cover it up with cash and an altered report. Harper then spoke in front of his cheerleading flunkies about the scandal – somehow never actually mentioning the scandal directly – then fucked off to Peru like a coward. It’s more complicated than that, but those are the broad strokes.
Harper’s press conference was one of the most pathetic things I’ve witnessed in Canadian politics and the only reason I’m writing about it here on this comedy website is that it got me so angry I had to get it out of my system.
Anyway, after that hilarious opening act, here’s a comic. Have a good weekend folks!
